10 Most Pointless Signings In Premier League History

Big clubs have a habit of throwing money at players – sometimes it’s needed, other times, it’s just like “what’s the entire point?” Today, we’ll be looking at transfers that fall into the latter category.

These are the 10 most pointless signings in Premier League history.

Let’s start with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea. This was a very pointless signing and it was clear from the very beginning.

You literally made a video why chiesa is perfect for Liverpool and then you add him to Most pointless transfers ????

12 Million for a Backup RW is definitely not useless. And He's not even that injury prone the only reason he's not been playing much this season is because Juventus screwed him over by not giving him a Pre season. Also he can play at any Forward position. You guys are way too deluded.
Edit: Last season, he played more minutes than half of the Liverpool XI.

Drinkwater was one of the best in 2015/16 season, a bit understandable if chelsea wanted to get him if that powerful midfield wasn’t there, but there was no point with that strong asf midfield

Why did we spend £95m on a player who wasn't guaranteed to succeed we could've signed more useful and more than 1 player with that amount, ETH said himself after getting sacked that Antony was one of the other 2 players who he felt let him down and that tells everything needed to know. ETH has played a part in sacking himself with signing Casemiro and Antony for a combined fee of £165M i know Casemiro helped us a lot in his 1st season but he wasn't a long term player and we paid 70m for him.

Chiesa shouldnt be here. He may be very injury prone but it was 12 mil. Liverpool could easily get profit. If he was 20 mil or higher then I hear it but for 12 mil nah

Drinkwater was bought because Leicester wanted 50+ for Kante, while Chelsea were unwilling to budge from 35, the solution was to split the 70 total across 2 players and Drinkwat3er was the easiest one for leicester to let go off.

Matt Targett came to Newcastle on loan and was excellent. We bought him that Summer and he immediately got injured. While he was out, his 'stand-ins' performed so well that he's now behind Lewis Hall, Dan Burn and even right backs Kieron Trippier and Tino Livramento on the left back depth chart.

Of course it's easy to criticize signings, after they fail. How about trying your predictions at current transfers and not low hanging fruit for the clicks

I think I discovered Chelsea’s strategy, they sign all pro football/soccer players so only they can win

How can you put Dewsbury Hall in the list if he just arrived to Chelsea and same thing goes for Chiesa if the season hasn't finished yet? At least if you include him, change the name for latest pointless signings in Premier League. Not, in history, come on!

I wouldn’t say the Keiran trippier signing is pointless
He is an excellent back up to enzo or palmer and is very creative and smart
