This video chronically our journey as we navigate this "new normal" during COVID-19 and self-quarantine. Thankfully, we are healthy. We are following social distancing. At first we thought the virus would only last a few weeks, then a month, then maybe two months, but now science predicts it will be until there is a vaccine in 18 months to 2 years. The first of our coronavirus vlogs features the day we found out school would be cancelled in the United States for a month (March 14, 2020) to April 1, 2020.

We did not explain a lot to our children at first as it was difficult to broach the subject with a 6 year old and 10 year old and we did not want them to be scared. As the virus progressed, we slowly educated them more beyond "We have to wash our hands thoroughly, so no one gets sick." Yes, we washed our hands thoroughly before then, but we emphasized it even more now.

I started taking mostly photos and then picked up the camera more to vlog when I realized this would be a way to cope and document what will be a historic time to live through. (A future vlog will show the boys' reactions to different photos capturing our first month).

This vlog shows our new Crested Geckos named Stripey and Leapy, our six-year-old Luke, our ten-year-old Conal, our red-eared slider turtle Remy, birds visiting our birdfeeder, and our tabby cat Xander.

This was originally filmed from March 14, 2020 to April 1, 2020.
