1) Comms and know how to use them
2) way more water than you think 3-6 gallons per person per day
3) thermo-regulate - long term needs - stay warm, power generation - keep food fresh
4) power- generator, solar, fuel to run it
5) Network - friends, family, church people… recovery ❤️‍🩹 and rebuilding stage. Need more people than you think.
6) Bug out indicators, plan to be able to leave. Location, Go Kit
7) Fuel, more than you think, keep vehicle at least 1/2 full. Need 12 months of fuel stored.
8) boil water, you need ways to boil water 💦

The reason there was no trouble is because everyone was packing heat. All these tips are great, but bottom line if you do not have the cash or the physical ability to do these things then you are in God's hands. One guy found an 83 year old woman in a holler living alone. God brought the man to help her. Angels here on Earth.

I 100% agree with you on water. Water is heavy. It’s hard to move long distances by foot.
Everything has to stay clean. You can die of sickness. You have to be able to stop diarrhea. Diarrhea can kill.

Thank you for the "Refocus" and the "having is not good enough..learn to be proficiant at using it!" We are all learning so much. I want to thank you for the humility in which you share. We are all a bit broken right now. And a word given in kindness is much appreciated. You are much appreciated. Shalom

There's only so much you can do. Don't be like the story I heard today about the knight who was going on a journey and decided he needed all his armor, extra weapons, cooking utensils, camping supplies, etc. As he left his castle, he fell through the wooden drawbridge planks because of all the weight he was carrying and drowned in his moat.

2 weeks without power and water. We had a propane camp stove, a camp toilet so we didn’t have to use our water storage to flush toilets, many many battery powered lanterns and flashlights, sola rechargeable batteries and chargers, Ecoflow solar batteries which could be trickle charged with car charger and we had solar powers and a gas generator that were also used to charge them, water filters, a 65 gallon water tank which we drew down by over 25 gallons over the two week period.

What we purchased after we got power and water restored: a propane powered camp shower, more batteries, and sand bags to shore up low spots in our swale in the back orchard where water came over and flowed down and washed out our road, water purification tablets because our water filter failed, extra water filters, and Sea foam gas additive because we had some old bad gas that almost ruined our gas generator.

No apologies needed. Wires get crossed under these circumstances. You are appreciated. I hope the water is healthy to consume.

I was a subscriber years ago, somehow lost the subscription, sorry about that. Been watching your reports about Helene. My husband is a 71 year old disabled retired Air Force Msgt and we have a working homestead that is more and more on me, his almost 68 year old wife of 49 years to run. I'm very healthy myself, but we cannot help the way we would have liked to so we donated to Grindstone so you can use the $$ as needed. We really appreciate all you have done and are doing. Thank you so much for standing in the gap for these displaced folks. God bless ~Cynthia, N. GA mountains, 2 hrs from Asheville, NC

No matter how much I learn and prepare, it never feels adequate. After all of this, standing before the Lord ready to follow His guidance is what will ultimately happen.
Thank you for this video, Bear. It's an important reminder of the things we will need when tshtf. Psalm 91

My friend's dad was with the 101st in Bastogne. He said what the GIs valued most were cigarettes, toilet paper and dry socks.
My dad crossed the Rhine at Remagen after the bridge collapsed. He said the same thing + chocolate chip cookies sent to the troops by The Salvation Army.
Small comforts mean a lot in a combat zone, which is similar to a disaster area.

Still working on como but people.
Water! Yes you will need more water than you think. We recently blew our well pump. It took 3 days to repair. It was at the height of canning season. In 2 1/2 days we went through 42 gallons of water, mostly due to canning and washing dishes. We washed up but did not shower of wash clothes. That was for 3 adults and 1 2 y.o. We didn't try real hard to conserve water but like I said no showers, no laundry, no scrubbing floors, infrequent toilet flushing, no watering gardens or Luckily I was able to get 5 gallon pails of water from my sister and we had lots of bottled water. Well pump has been repaired and new hand pump in place.
