This makes me think of a star trek episode where the crew finds out that the people of this certain planet who were of the sun were not sun worshipers but worshipers of the Son of God.

Shades of the man we all came to love. So fun to see him so young.

John 21:25 And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

The Bible wasn't meant to describe everything in the world. It was meant to describe what was important to know from our creator and that we would have to explore the rest with our brains that God gave us.

Yes because obviously a person a century or more ago would have no idea what anything is that we have now. People can be so limited in their thinking, but profess themselves to be wise by questioning the obvious. Rest in peace wonderful spirit and teacher. You were a voice of reason.

You have been a blessing to me, I wonder how easy it is for you to make me believe the word of God amidst so much ambiguity.

Same goes for the immaculate conception and the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist

Heiser is 100% Correct. I'd like to add the same people he's alluding to that do that are also the same people that read EVERYTHING in the Bible as wooden literal.
It's truly untenable

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 This scripture answers this uninformed person. We should be so careful what we share as people are confused already. This is exactly my point that especially pastors should know enough about God's word to lead in the right way.

Comparing Extraterrestrials to toilet paper seems highly appropriate here considering Azazel himself is an "Extraterrestrial" although not an alien in the Star Trek or Star Wars non-sense but in the biblical sense.

I have seen people argue that planets aren't real and try and use the Bible for proof. Don't even get me started on flat earth.

Jesus lives! ♥️ and is God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑

Thank you.

Yes, I agree. Not everything written in bible as real. Lots of things are not written in bible are real.

Holy Bible is inspired Word of God without error - is this true?

about this argument - I may want to share my view too

I have never heard any conservative or Christian make that argument. Never - as a conservative Christian. I have never heard anyone use that rhetoric. The only people I have heard make this argument are those who argue against the bible in an attempt to trap Christians to the text of the bible.

Is he saying that there are extra terestials?

Alien life would be a problem however, considering all of creation is focused on what is happening here on earth.

Actually, the Bible does address this subject. While I respect Doctor Heiser and have learned a lot from him, he does not have a monopoly on Biblical exegesis.

Romans 8:18-39 NIV
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all---how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died---more than that, who was raised to life---is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

This passage clearly teaches that the "whole creation" has been "subjected to frustration" and is "groaning" as a result. Since God created everything, if there is extraterrestrial, intelligent, mortal life out there, then God created it. Did God send Jesus in the form of E. T. to suffer and die for them? We know that God cursed the "whole creation" because of Adam's sin. Did he curse E. T. too? Did that part of creation not get cursed because of Adam but because E. T. sinned too? It certainly does not seem consistent with God's nature to curse E. T. because of Adam's sin when E. T. does not descend from Adam. If E. T. was not cursed because of Adam's sin, then Paul is wrong in Romans 8. We are also told in Genesis 1 that we are created in God's image.

Genesis 1:26-28 NIV
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

In what image did he create E. T.?

You see, this Romans 8 passage explicitly excludes the existence of E. T. If one desires to believe otherwise, one has multiple insurmountable theological problems to overcome.

I've been careful to speak of E. T. as mortal. There are extraterrestrial, intelligent beings out there in the unseen realm as Doctor Heiser has pointed out. These are not mortal beings. They rebelled on their own and have no hope for redemption. They don't live on some planet in a galaxy far, far away.

Not surprised he makes this logical mistake. “Extraterrestrials” issue is part of the way God structured our “world/cosmos/etc” and, therefore, it is understandable that ppl will argue that way.
Radio, telephone etc. — are mere technological advances. Lumping them together to draw his conclusion is illogical because they aren’t analogous.
