Inside JRM’s Daytona 500 Debut: Kelley & Dale Jr. React To Partnering with Chris Stapleton

It's official!

For the first time in the organization's history, JR Motorsports will be fielding a NASCAR Cup Series entry to race in the 67th running of the Daytona 500. The team at JRM will be partnering with Chris Stapleton's Traveller Whiskey to build the No. 40 car for Justin Allgaier to pilot at the Great American Race this coming February. Yes, you may need to pinch yourself because this is really happening!

In this video, Kelley Earnhardt Miller and Dale Jr. sit down to put into words what a monumental accomplishment this is for them and how the details came together. Being that this is the first time in more than 10 years that the Earnhardt family name will be backing a car in the Cup Series, it was crucial to Kelley and Dale both that the pieces came together the right way. You can feel the excitement and pride in the way they discuss what this means to them.

I've visited Jr motorsports many times and ran into Justin one day there and he came over and talked with us for 30 minutes just answering questions and swapping stories. There isnt a more deserving person that needs this opportunity! I hope Jim will be his crew chief for the 500 as well as Jim is another amazing addition the the Jr motorsports teams!
