Good catch. When I’m inspecting a truss house, I walk perpendicular to the trusses on the upper level and look at each truss individually. It amazes me how many broken trusses framing crews just slap up. In that web of 2x4s you can miss a lot if you’re not careful

Just as bad as when certain trades like HVAC installers CUT the trusses so that they can do their install. No coordination or planning can lead to all kinds of B.S. (bad stuff).

I don’t like that Romex running over and laying on the edge of a truss plate. Years later it could get compromised on the metals edge.

Whoever accepted the load of trusses from the manufacturer should have refused due to poor construction. That makes it even worse.

HVAC Tech/Installer here.
We stopped using metal strap as support for ducts after a plumber got a nasty cut on his hand and wind up getting stitches. We were blamed for the incident. Furthermore, they were trying to collect due to their unfortunate accident. Long story short… We started using Nylon strap from that point on. Turns out that Nylon strap(as seen on this video)it’s not code compliant, due to the fact that it does not have a rigid support of at least 1 1/2” under the duct, and we got called out on it to corrected.
We know metal strap it’s risky for anyone in an attic, but, We’re forced to use it!

We were all drunk, high or tweaked out at all times, paid minimum wage and hired theough a temp agency so they didnt have to give us any bennifits.
