The idea to build a hand mill, made of thick oak with big wooden gears came in my mind after seeing the notice of competition of #felderchallenge.
Raising the level of the competition and create a bigger challenge for myself I decided not to use any screws or nails for this project but assembling the mill only with wooden joints and glue. So, after finishing the mill, 349 pcs of wooden joints can be found in its structure.
No CNC technology has been used.
Plans, preparation and construction have been made all by myself, part from the millstone.
The whole structure is made of oak wood and treated with olive oil.
As this mill has been prepared only for this competition, I decided to donate it to our local Castle Museum of Siklós, so also tourists can see and try it. So, this mill is a new attraction of Siklós Castle.
