Living in the last kampung in mainland Singapore

Madam Sng Mui Hong and her three siblings inherited Kampong Lorong Buangkok, which is about the size of three football fields, after their father died. They are determined to honour his wish for the village to remain with the family and have chosen not to sell the land that’s worth tens of millions of dollars.

Kampong Lorong Buangkok is a village located in Hougang, Singapore. Built in 1956, it is the last surviving kampong located on Singapore Island in the 21st century. It is situated right beside a canal that drains into the nearby Sungei Punggol.
