To put it as simple as possible, Notice how the 1st dimension had both its 2 sides connected to another 1st dimension and hence creating a 2nd dimension, and the 2nd dimension had its 4 sides connected to another 2nd dimension and hence creating a 3rd Dimension. Now this is where it gets a bit tricky for some people, notice how the 8 sides of the two cubes connect each other and create a 4th dimension, now using this logic, you can understand the principle of the multi dimensions

When taking a line/square/cube/etc. Into a higher dimension, the number of vertices doubles, and the number of outward faces is always double as many dimensions it is in, and since the number of dimensions is increasing by 1 each time, this means the number of outward faces increases by 2 each time.

For all the 11 shapes shown, here is a chart of exactly how many vertices and how many outward faces each one of these shapes should have:
