Before you guys start with “the James brown allegations were debunked..” no they were not. There were witnesses and witness testimonies. Tammi was also not the only one he abused. He even would pull out guns on his male employees and friends. I like his music too, but the man was troubled and sick… Tammi only had one true friend in the industry and that was Marvin Gaye! I want to send this to my mom, but don’t want to trigger her. She was born in 1965, and her first husband beat her too. She was 17. The men of that time were horrible and I’m glad women today are able to fight back. Just so tragic.

My mom went to school with her!!!! I didn’t know this was the girl she was referring too. My mom said she was an amazing light in school and still speaks so highly of her. I never knew how dark her story is but rest in peace beautiful

This is so sad and maddening! I’ve never told anyone before because it’s so humiliating but I eloped at 17 and had no idea what a nightmare he would turn out to be. He beat me and dragged me by my legs in our apartment if front of his cousins and they did nothing. I finally managed to get away with his father’s help after the monster broke my arm. When my family picked me up at the airport they didn’t recognize me cause from the neck down I was covered in bruises and had a cast on my arm. I thank God everyday for good people in this world and especially you Karine, for telling us these important stories that we can all learn from. Bless you 🙏🏽❤️

OMG 🤯, Who knew.. I remember seeing Ms. Terrell at Basin st. West in S.F. back in the 60's my friends & I w/my brother won tickets through the radio station KSOL, Sly was a DJ there & we saw Redd Foxx & Tammi & Marvin were suppose to perform, he was a no show, however she came on & blew us all away. After the show she came out & spoke with us & gave us all a hug, we were 10 - 13 years old. The sweetest, most beautiful women I ever saw, I was so impressed by her & thought how courageous she was to appear alone & sing ❤ I will never forget her class, style dress & beauty 😢, rest in peace Ms. Tammi you were an angel on earth, I'm sorry you were not appreciated while you were here by those in charge, Rest in Peace
