This theory breaks something beautiful about the movie. Let me break it down for you.
We have no evidence that Lilo was feeding pudge before her parents died. Her parents died in a car crash, which left Lilo feeling scared. She couldn’t have prevented it which means she can’t prevent anyone else from being killed either. She’s terrified of losing more loved ones to random acts of god. So in order to give herself some sense of control, some feeling of calm, she makes up a story about this one particular fish that controls the weather. So that she can blame someone for what happened. So she feeds this fish to appease him so that she feels some sense of control. As long as she does this thing, nothing else bad will happen. It’s an ocd coping mechanism. One that will probably need to be worked out in therapy

I think you guys are missing something very important. LILO and stitch came out before Moana was even an idea. Nothing in lilo and stitch can be used as evidence since it wasn’t supposed to be evidence.

You usually find the connection aspects in movies when later movies hide Easter eggs in the background not earlier movies. This is based solely on knowledge from the future and finding evidence that’s not there.

I grew up watching Stitch & now my daughter is OVERLY OBSESSED with Stitch so I have to rewatch it all again… this is a big ass REACH!! Lilo feeds Pudge because the one night she forgot to, the storm that her parents were driving in hit, and killed her parents. Her feeding him is a OCD Coping Mechanism to protect her Grandma because she believes if she doesn’t that her Grandma or Nani would die. If anything David is a descendant if Maui watching over Lilo & Nani. He wears the hook necklace. He’s the ONLY CHARACTER that wears a hook necklace, and is overprotective of the girls. Nani & Lilo are more than likely descendants of Moana but there is another connection between them that will most likely become evident in the next Moana movie. Maui will somehow die, a return back to the spirit world becoming a spirit God like all other Gods once losing their physical form, passing the hook down to someone else that eventually becomes David. But Maui being Pudge ? Nah… I don’t see it all. Lilo feeds him due to the underlying trauma she has from losing her parents so young. Also, if you go watch deleted scenes. Stitch kills Pudge by feeding him to one of the birds. They get his lifeless fish corpse back, and she buried him next to her parents. That further proves Pudge is just a fish, and not a Demi God.

Samoans are native to the Samoan islands by South east asia and are closely related to indigenous thai and vietnamese tribes.
Hawaiians are an ethnic group of Polynesians native to the hawaiian islands with there own unique cultures, history, spiritual beliefs and traditions.

To clarify: Hawaii IS Polynesian. Polynesia is a region that includes many islands of the Pacific, like Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, Aotearoa (New Zealand), and Hawaii. Not all Polynesians are Hawaiians, but all Hawaiians ARE Polynesian. We are one big Pacific island family. We have distinct identities, and yet share many cultural values, traditions, and histories. We are the same blood. To conclude, while this theory is a stretch (and of course fictional lol)- it is in fact possible. Much love to my island cousins from all the Pacific and Polynesia.
