Balance: S8 + O2 = SO2

Показать описание
In order to balance S8 + O2 = SO2 you'll need to first count all of the atoms on each side of the equation (reactants on the left and products on the right). Initially we have 8 sulfur atoms and 2 oxygen atoms on the reactants side of the equation. For the products we have 1 sulfur and 2 oxygen. Therefore the equation is not balanced.

When you balance the equation leave the O2 molecule for last. As a general rule, that makes balancing equations much easier.

Don’t be intimidated by larger numbers when you balance chemical equations. Just make sure the number of each type of atom is the same on both sides of the equation.
