Donald Bell sings 'Folk-Love – Canadian Style'
Показать описание
A group of settings of Canadian folk songs by Canadian composer Richard Johnston that are sung here by bass-baritone Donald Bell with Linda Lee Thomas at the piano. Recorded in 1976. The songs range from a rough captain in Halifax who seduces Miss Bailey; the story of a wedding and a disappointed suitor; and a sad narrative about a girl who lover has drowned.... The final song has a uniquely Canadian aspect in that its refrain is bilingual.
