You miss out on the Carrier trade during the turnaround. It let Guhle switch sides too. Both have made such a huge impact on the defence. It's so much better.

For those of us who have been following the rebuild stages every step of the way, ie: keeping track of prospects and watching mostly losses and the odd win ...etc, it feels pretty good to see some success. BUT it's not time to plan a parade. Far from it. Yes making the playoffs would be great, but for experience and confidence if anything else. There are still MASSIVE pieces still missing from this complete unit being one of the best teams in the league for a decade like the Penguins and Bruins for example.
Making one playoff is a drop in the bucket. Demidov, Reinbacher, Fowler, Mailloux, Roy, Beck...etc, have barely played a dozen games combined. Those are HGE pieces MTL are invested in, a LOT.
So let us enjoy the good times like we hurt during the bad ones. But it's a marathon. And it's been a damn fun one to watch TBH! Personally I've been excited about what management has been doing with the team and I've been looking forward to the future, but the present is where we are. Let's not ignore it by loading our heads with expectations. I'm having a blast watching this team get better.

I'm just here to beat the Carrier drum. That trade transformed Montreal's top 4 on defense.

Thanks! I watch these videos and am furious with the NHL for screwing with you folks. I've written them multiple messages, emails and a physical letter. Ive been going to games since 1984-85. I quit watching after the 4th lockout and loathe Bettman ruining the NHL. These videos got me back and now they are threatening you guys. So hopefully we get loud enough for them to stop playing games.
This is hands down the best channel for showing real hockey systems and the weekly recap is funny and enjoyable! Cheers!

Here in Australia, we're not much into winter sports - for obvious reasons - and even though we do have snow, and some people go skiing and snowboarding on weekends in winter, ice skating is a very rare thing because there are hardly any rinks. We play cricket instead of baseball - in fact it's our national sport and we're by far the most successful country in the history of the game - and whilst I really like American football, I prefer Rugby Union and Rugby League, mostly because I played them growing up.
I have always been fascinated by ice hockey though, not just for the incredible skill - I also played field hockey growing up and that was hard enough - but because it is such a brutal sport. Like I said, I grew up playing Rugby! The point being that I'm really glad I found your channel - Thank You - and just wanted you to know that I have really enjoyed getting to know the history of the game, how things have changed over the years, and learning about some of the great players from the past. Your videos are very well done and I have been enjoying them immensely.
Keep up the great work!

I think this is the best video I watched on the Habs in a long time, and I’ve watched many! Thanks for this, I sent it out to 5 more die-hard Habs fans.

As a Bruins fan I never thought I would watch a video like this... GARY, CAN'T YOU SEE THIS CONTENT WORKS TO GET EYES ON THE GAME!? Great stuff, good to see Laine back in form. Hopefully we can a get some good Habs-Bruins rivalry back

Thank you 😊 for explaining and illustrating the Habs hybrid defensive system. I kept hearing others refer to it, but I had no idea what it looked like.

Great analytic skills, great knowledge of hockey mechanics and strategies! I subscribed.

As a habs fan for the last 16 years, it's the first time I have so much faith in the future of the organization. Needless to say everyone is excited here!

It's truly special, enjoy the ride guys!

Went to the Montréal-UHC game earlier this week. Absolutely insane watching them go from a team that plays hot potato with the puck to a team that was quite literally sends their opponents reeling backwards by the speed of Caufield as he shot right down the middle McDavid style. I personally think the team (and fans) completely underestimated the Habs before this game, and rightfully had their asses handed to 'em.

the way you make your videos just really showcases how beautiful these plays are

I was born in Montreal but haven't lived there since 1990. Even though I am now a fanatical Dallas Stars fan, I am stoked to see the Canadiens relevant again. Go HABS!!
