I dont understand the blatant gaslighting. I remember him taking the photos, everyone who I've watched it with remembers. Whenever we would talk about their relationship, we would say, 'Nancy and Jonathan are a cute couple if you can ignore the pervy stalker behaviour in the beginning'. I am happy they edited it out. It was just something I had a hard time getting past.

Ok soooo, did they also cut out the scene where Steve friend sees Jonathan in the red room with the photos? Then Steve confronts him and smashes his camera? Because that would be a huge gap to take out.

no because i vivdly remember that scene and thought it was a mandela effect or smt but apparently its not, just happy i could see the scene before it was removed (not in a creepy way just happy i could see more of jonathans character development even if it was a tiny bit)

So now even tho we don't SEE Johnathan taking the photos. He still DID cuz steve finds his photos in the red room and beats him up over it. They can't change something THAT big. Johnathan deserved to get beat up for being such a creep

I remember that scene so clearly. I rewatched Stranger Things recently, and I was confused why they changed it, and that maybe I was just imagining things, but then I came across this video, and realized I was right and they did change it.

So glad I found the bluray at Target for 6 bucks. Art shouldnt just stay the same because I hate change, but because if the duffer bros really want to change that aspect of Jonathan's character theyd do it through the writing.

This literally is one of the things that caused the starting problem between nancy and steve lmao, editing this means editing half the first season why did they change it

they didn’t change it - you can watch early reaction videos of that episode just after s1 was released that show that whole scene and the reactions to it and it’s not there. the rumour isn’t that they rid all scenes of jonathan taking pictures and spying, but instead that they rid a shot of jonathan taking a picture after nancy and steve began kissing. but there was never such a shot - immediately after they began kissing, jonathan lowered his camera, then lifted it again and chose to take pictures of barb instead. it’s a notable moment covered in those reaction videos as all reactors typically go “nooo don’t take a picture of that” when it cuts to jonathan lifting up his camera again after showing nancy and steve kissing, and then they go “ah okay” when he moves the camera to barb instead. it remains unchanged and those who remember the shot are experiencing a mandela effect.

Jonathan spied on her which is well let's just say not a good trait but was better after. Steve was a jerk at the beginning, also not a good quality but was better after. I don't know just seems balanced to me that way 🤷

I just dont want nancy and steve to end up together. Man no one with taste does. I wanted them to make steve bi. It wouldve been such a natural trajectory. Plus they had nancy hold the hand of their lesbian character? Naw. The plot is getting stupider, we should be focusing more on character emotions.
