"You Came" is a song by English singer Kim Wilde from her sixth studio album Close (1988). It was released on July 4, 1988 as the album's second single.
The song was written by Wilde and Ricky Wilde after the birth of his first child, Marty.
"You Came" became one of the most successful singles of Wilde's career, reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart and reaching the top 10 in several other European countries, including Denmark, where it reached number one for five weeks. In the United States, it was her fourth (and final) single to reach the top 50 and peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It also reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.
The version of the song used in Europe and Australia for the 7" single was an edited version of the original on the Close album. An expanded version was also released in 12-inch and CD single formats North America, a remix by Shep Pettibone was included on both formats, with an edited version in the 7" format and two different dub versions (only available in the 12" format).
The full-length Pettibone remix was also released on a separate 12-inch single in Europe.
In the countries where "You Came" was the first Close single (namely North America and France), an exclusive non-album track called "Tell Me Where You Are" was used as the B-side,
which is the same as the rest of the album World was the B-side of the first Close single “Hey Mister Heartache”. In these countries, the B-side of "You Came" was a track from the album entitled "Stone".

Das Lied wurde von Wilde und Ricky Wilde nach der Geburt seines ersten Kindes, Marty, geschrieben.
„You Came“ wurde zu einer der erfolgreichsten Singles in Wildes Karriere, erreichte Platz drei der britischen Single-Charts und erreichte die Top 10 in mehreren anderen europäischen Ländern, darunter Dänemark, wo es fünf Wochen lang Platz eins erreichte. In den Vereinigten Staaten erreichte es ihre vierte (und bisher letzte) Single die Top 50 und erreichte Platz 41 der Billboard Hot 100.

Der Pettibone-Remix in voller Länge wurde auch auf einer separaten 12-Zoll-Single in Europa veröffentlicht.In den Ländern, in denen „You Came“ die erste Close-Single war (nämlich Nordamerika und Frankreich),
wurde als B-Seite ein exklusiver Nicht-Album-Titel namens „Tell Me Where You Are“ verwendet, den es im Rest der Welt gab war die B-Seite der ersten Close-Single „Hey Mister Heartache“.
In diesen Ländern war die B-Seite von „You Came“ ein Titel aus dem Album mit dem Titel „Stone“.
Ein sehr guter Schulfreund, der fast jede Musik hörte, sammelte urplötzlich auf einmal den `Bravo Starschnitt` von Kim Wilde.
Erst die Füße, dann die Beine und nach und nach klebte Kim Wilde in all ihrer Wucht und Pracht als Poster an seiner Wand.
Und Hand aufs Herz!!!
