When Tony suggested they bury the hatchet, it reminded me of the old Foghorn Leghorn joke:  "I've come, I say, I've come to bury the hatchet." (Dog covers up.) "NOT IN YO BRAIN, BOY!"

John looked less than thrilled but I'm sure they're still friends. No matter what level of racer you are..if you race against friends this stuff happens.

im not sure there ever was a hatchet to begin with. but it was a great story like they have in wrestling & im sure it brought in more people to the match races of the time. john is a super guy in person.

Glad to see it! NHRA is a family. Still, one wonders.. it's like that Seinfeld episode where Jerry and George wonder who would win if they actually got into a fight with each other. "Mano-a-baldo" !
