I'm driving 24 yr old Acura Integra. My coworkers looked at me funny because most of them are driving Benz, Lexus, BMW, Tesla or $50k + trucks. I looked at them funny when I told them my house been paid off awhile back. I just have diff' priority in life.

I made a 70% down payment on a 2024 Honda CRV Hybrid in December of 2023. I just paid off the balance on 06/27/24. I saved almost 2 yrs for the down payment to get the car that my wife and I wanted. Run the numbers on your personal expenses, live frugally and just have patience to get what you want. No big secret. And no, our household income is not in the six figures.

Car debt is the worst kind of debt. Your paying for something that is depreciating with every payment. A house is different. Your paying every month for something that is gaining value. I’m 50 years old. Done all of this 3 times already.

$1, 200? $1, 800? smh... Do they have money in retirement? Money in savings?.. Consumer debt?.. Those are the people that will find themselves working into those 70's or until they die... Just because you are approved for that payment doesn't mean that it is smart to have it.

I inherited my dad's 17 year old car a 2007 Toyota Camry with 11, 000 miles back in 2021. It now has 39, 000 miles lol. No major repairs yet other than yearly oil change, tires, battery, and windshield wipers. I want a new car and can well afford one but I would have to be insane to give this up.

my car payment is $0 and it has been $0 for about 7 years. of course my house payment is also $0.
pay off your debts and never go back to owing the bank the next 10 years of your life and you will be a lot happier.
