Kobo Glo HD vs Kobo H2O

Today we look at the two most recent e-readers that Kobo has released within the last calender year. The Kobo H2O and upcoming Kobo Glo HD represent the modern lineup and today Good e-Reader is showing you the primary differences between both devices.

I've recently bought a Kobo Aura H2O, and i'm loving it, very good e-Reader and i can use it in the pool without worries. (And i was happy to discover that it also opens .mobi files)

You have to do a software update on the H20. You're missing options in Reading Settings.

Do they have the same version of software? Seems to me that the newer Kobo has a newer software becoz of the new options on how to flip over a page.  Would love to hear from you.

Guys... im probably wrong somehow but I bought the Kobo Aura H20 today and I was extremely surprised and delighted to discover that pinch and zoom DOES WORK in pdfs. Possibly due to a software update? (It updated itself when I turned it on the first time). I am so happy I went with this one because of the bigger screen.

Fonts don't get as big on both devices, perhaps you didn't adjust the font size also under the Advanced section?  BTW do they have the same CPU?  I'm pretty disappointed that they have no SD slot on the new eReader.

Great video! Helped a lot, I think I'm going for the Glo HD. I missed the chance to buy a Kobo Aura HD which sold in limited edition last summer and I've been waiting for it to maybe come back this summer, but no luck so far. Would you happen to know anything about that? :)

Hello, I am purchasing a Kobo for my father who is visually impaired who is moving from an older Nook tablet. He will need as large a font size as possible and his current tablet is a 7" screen with large fonts which get big enough so that only about 12 - 15 words appear on the screen. I notice in your review that the largest font size on the Glo HD seemed much bigger than that of the Aura H20. The Glo fonts go big enough to only have about 5 words per page (see about 7 minutes into your video). Do you know if that's still true? When I called Kobo tech support I got two answers; one rep said that the Aura H20 font size could be adjusted to show about four words per page, that seems very different from what your demonstration showed. I called them back and another rep said that the H20 can't get as big as it can on Glo HD after I showed them a screen shot from your video. Can anyone confirm that the Aura H20 still can't get font sizes as large as the Glo HD? That seems strange.

I wonder, it the pinch to zoom gesture on the Glo HD is a software or also a hardware solution. New or different IR sensors?
But if this is just a software solution, I would really like this gesture as a software update on my H2O.
