So you’ve decided you want to learn how to knit, but you don’t even know where to begin! It can be completely overwhelming searching around on the internet looking for the right video, class or course!

I recently published another video featuring 25 crochet projects for beginners and so many people left comments asking for the same video but for knitting! So today I’m sharing 12 knitting projects for the absolute beginner. I’ve only included projects that have video tutorials and you’ll find links to them all in the description box!

I learned to knit years ago using books from my local public library! It wasn't easy and I think I got discouraged because I didn't have a large variety of patterns to choose from. With all the tutorials available on YouTube now, I think I have to revisit knitting and I think I'll enjoy it much more! Thanks for the suggestions! ❤

I’m a crocheter who’s easing myself into knitting. One thing that’s helping me is knitting ribbing to my crochet garments. Casting on is a nightmare for me (I can do it but it always ends up too tight) but by knitting onto crochet, I don’t have to worry about that. I can just get right into knitting and it adds a really nice finish to crocheted garments!

Oh and another tip for those easing from crochet to knitting: you can use a crochet hook to cast on and bind off! I’ve found that so helpful. I still haven’t finished a full knitting project yet, but I might try out one of these projects ❤

Yayy! Please do more knitting videos and tutorials. I’m an advanced crocheter and am starting to knit. I’m really excited to make some knitted Amigurumi toys.

Good Saturday morning, Elise, this video was so encouraging. About three years ago I walked into a local thrift store and I ended up purchasing a bunch of knitting needles and a case to put them in for less than $10. I told myself that I was going to learn to knit but they are still sitting in their needle case on my shelf and I have not even attempted to use them. There are all kinds of knitting needles in that case. Your video was so encouraging, maybe that day is finally here and it is time to start knitting. Thanks for all the tips on where to go to learn to knit. Wish me luck.

Hi Elise! I love when my favorite YouTubers (you) mention my other favorites like B Hooked & Kika! You did it with your crochet video also. Makes me feel like I am somewhere in the right area. Thank you for all of your insights, advice, help and tutorials!

I am just getting back into knitting after an 8 year break and I’ve just been inspired to recreate my old favourite fair isle woollen jumper that got thrown into a high heat washed and ruined a couple of years ago. Thank you for your videos! 🧶💖

I loved this! As a new knitter there is so much to learn but I’m loving every minute of it and if I get frustrated I just pick up my crochet project and it helps get my confidence back up. Win win😃

Hi, Elies I love your videos, I learned knitting when I was in my twenties that time I made only one project that is baby sweater and baby booties, after that I made my first knitted toy from little cotton rabbit pattern after watching your video about reviewing that pattern and l loved it thank you so much for helping me pick up my knitting needles again after so many years.😊❤

I sooo love your enthusiasm in every video. I can't wait for the next one. You are so talented and inspiring. I'm mainly a knitter but I crochet too and I love all the things you make. You have even inspired me to organise my craft room...well almost organise...not yet finished!! Next is working through my yarn stash😮.
Love from the UK❤🇬🇧

I always feel that I’m a crocheter who can do some knitting 😂 but last year I really wanted to make some knitted toys, especially the little cotton rabbit’s patterns☺️. So while I’m still essentially a crocheter, I am enjoying toy knitting and the Doodle patterns 🧶🥰 Have a great week Elise!🌷🌷

Great video! I've been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years. There is still lots to learn. I have discovered new techniques and patterns that are beautiful and challenging. There are some patterns you showed in this video that are simple and lovely that I'm going to have to do. Thanks for your video.
