You're actually not using the Tare function correctly. The Tare is the container. It should be deducted when measuring the net weight of an item. Set the container on the scale, then press the Tare button and the scale will zero. Now everything put into the container is only measured. In other words, the net weight of the item to be weighed, w/o the container weight.

I just bought this scale, unboxed it, and was attempting to figure it out. The instructions aren't the easiest to follow. For example, I did read where it says to remove the black tabs but doesn't say how. Honestly, I was afraid to try. I didn't want to break it.
The different ways to weigh the items weren't the clearest either. Your video brought everything together clearly. Thank you so much.

Whenever I use it to measure something, the number in the weight scale keeps going up and up, and never stops at the exact weight of the item or food I am weighing. Help me please.

Very helpful interview, thank you. Has anyone been using this scale for a long time? I want a scale, but I am torn between the less expensive models like this one and the more expensive Oxo Good Grips scale. On the one hand, I would rather spend $15 than $55, but if the less expensive scales are not very accurate and/or they peter out after only a few months to a couple of years with relatively light use, then it makes more sense to buy the Oxo. Reviews are all over the place, too, so this is why I ask for opinions of people who have used the Mainstays scale for quite a long time and can tell me what to expect in terms of accuracy and longevity.

How are we suppose to measure liquids or is this not the type of scale for that?

For the scale - remove the rubber stoppers on the side

I just bought the slim version of this yesterday and I turned it on after reading the instructions and weighed 3 pieces of turkey breast sliced and it said 007.5 lbs/oz wth does that mean? I'm looking to see how many oz because I need 2oz for one serving.

I weighed 2 chicken nuggets and it came out to 20 grams. No way it should be that
