I don’t understand why anyone would think that they have the right to touch the instruments, I was raised to respect the artist/band/singer.

Two of the bands I was in were broken up by girlfriends. In one band, we had a strict rule that no wives or girlfriends were allowed into the practice room during practice. It worked so well we improved enough to book two regional tours and earn decent money. One day, the lead singer’s girlfriend and her friend just showed up at the rehearsal hall and unfortunately he didn’t have the guts to tell her to leave. The two women were so distracting and annoying and entitled that I refused to play if they stayed. Then, in order to fulfill our tour contract, I agreed to come back. Then they inserted themselves in the tour, demanding room in our already super crowded van, chain smoking, perfume stinking up the van- having us stop all the time and causing us to argue with each other (to their obvious delight) to the point where I smacked our singer- one of my oldest friends. Tour ended right there. Band ended right there. Friendship ended right there. Want to hear the worst part? The girls broke us up for fun. For their entertainment.

I know you mentioned it, but stay away from drugs and alcohol before and at least until you have loaded out if you must indulge. I suggest at all times ! It's better to be in Control then not ! LOL, Check out Alex Lifeson's rants ! Yes, be nice to bar/club owners and promotors, lol, unless the try and skip out on payment !
