If you were offered a job that pays 100K and then when you got to the job and kicked butt they only paid you 3K. You would quit also

Their RB Michael Allen just did the same exact thing. Now they are without their starting QB and one of their RB's.

Oral contracts are actually legally binding but can be difficult to prove without a witness

Two morals to this story:

"Don't make a promise you don't intent to keep."

"Don't **** with my money."

These sleazy schools need to be held accountable for doing this to these young athletes

7:40 respectfully, this was an awful analogy lmao an assistant football coach of a respected division 1 football program's promise is a little bit more credible than a random dude at publix making a ridiculous bet with you... cmon now. He was offered money to move across the country, yes it only being verbal is a sh!tty situation for him but we cant allow coaches to make empty promises to players and not deliver on them, he wasnt given what he was promised and these old school football fans are calling him a quitter?? man shut up. Theres not a starting QB in division 1 football that would stay in that situation.

You are not allowed to sign a contract for NIL before you enroll in the school

He's right!!!! Id stop playing too... the only difference is I would've stopped earlier. Players take al the risk... its about time they start getting paid over the table.

All I'm saying is Texas Oregon or Ohio State would've paid.🤣

Contracts are now essential for protecting both players and schools. Even a one-year contract can safeguard the player's interests, while also ensuring that the school retains its investment in the player. Similar to NFL contracts, which benefit both players and teams, a college contract could allow schools to buy out a player's agreement if a better offer arises. This structure mirrors the existing framework for college coaches and provides stability for all parties involved.

NCAA sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring reality has made this whole situation a mess.
If they had not been so resistant to evolution, they could have stayed in control and made a framework for how this should happen.
So many obvious guidelines they could've put in place.
Put a cap on the coaches' salaries and limit when/how they can leave schools.
Then use that same model to justify why restrictions will also be placed on NIL and the transfer portal for the players.

Calling someone a quitter for quitting there job for not getting paid is crazy. Some things happen to me at my truck driving job.
