Are you ready to make a quilt block? You can do it! This video shows you how a common quilt block, the sawtooth square, comes together using a series of half-square triangles to form the star points. The sawtooth star block is a great block for beginners to make. Once you get the hang of cutting and piecing this basic block together, and gain confidence in your accuracy, you'll be able to experiement with other block patterns. But first, you could piece together several more sawtooth star blocks to make a small quilt!

Thank you. Perfect, quick and easy.another person on internet made it tooo complicated. Said cut all these pieces individual.. instead of using the 7/8 method for cutting and making divided two color squares.. to just shift into where they needed to be placed ♥️

Also . You can do the 7/8 cut for any two tone square and put a solid square next to it.. alternating to make a quilt called indy 500.. with 3 colors, about 3 inches wide each size borders to frame it.

Does the 6.5 " square include a 1/4" seam allowance on all four sides of the square, or is it a 6.5" NOT including the 1/4" seam allowances? Sorry - newbie over here!

You stitch on BOTH sides of the line, NOT ‘either’ side….ugh so annoying
