Arrival of partners Aigaleo Athens 22 Sept 2014

On Monday afternoon, at 6:30, the Greek Comenius YoUtopia team of 6th General Lyceum of Aigaleo met the partners at the El. Venizelos airport. We headed towards Sounion, where the ancient temple of Poseidon, God of Sea, stands imposingly at the edge of the Cape, overlooking the Aegean Sea.
We visited the area around the Temple and enjoyed a romantic evening taking pictures with the background of the Temple in day light. When dark had fallen deep the temple was lightened and it caused an awesome feeling, transferring us in the past, centuries ago of the Golden Era of Pericles, when the temple was rebuilt.
At 8:15 we went on our tour towards Alimos Coast, a seaside suburb of Piraeus, where the partners were welcomed by Greek teachers and were offered Greek tradditional snacks and refreshments. A walk along the promenade completed the short stay at Alimos.
At 10:15 we took our way to the center of Athens through Sygrou Avenue, where we had an evening sightseeing tour of the center of the city of Athens, passing by the Parliament, the Academy, the Old University and the National Library.
At 11:00 the teachers were left to the hotel and at 11:15 the pupils were welcomed by Greek families. That was the end of the day of arrivals.
