The funny thing here is pretty much any Ryzen from 3700X on up would perform as well as the 3950X. Actually, for the most part, the 3700X outperforms the 3950X in gaming (though the differences are minor). Also not sure if you tuned the memory, that gives a bigger boost to FPS than clock speed for Ryzen, generally speaking. That being said...the i5 10600 would also equal the 10900K in pretty much any gaming situation and the 3300X is probably fine for 99% of us rocking anything less than an RTX 2080 when it comes purely to gaming. This sort of "king of gaming" is basically academic if you aren't running a 2080ti - and even then, frame rates are so high as to be indistinguishable to the naked eye.
This fanboyism stuff is stupid - buy what fits your budget and what works best for you. I appreciate that AMD is competitive enough now to force Intel to add HT and drop prices...everyone wins in that situation regardless of what you personally choose for your system.

The thing is, 3950x is not really targeted at gamers, it's targeted into more of a productivity users, it's meant to compete against intel's i9 10980xe. Besides, why pay more to get few fps while you can get 3900x for a similar performance at a lower price?

So many fanboyism in the comments. Be glad that you currently have lots of options at different price points because of the decent competition from both companies. If you primarily use your PC for gaming then go Intel to get marginally higher average fps. If you primarily use your PC on tasks that can utilize the extra cores such as video encoding/editing then go AMD to save a significant amount of time, while still having near Intel-like performance for games. Don't think of it as Intel vs AMD, think of it as the CPU market and buy what best suits your needs.
