so glad someone brought up how the "typical" east asian eye shape went from being mocked to being trendy

I hate it when movies try and cast actors with different races solely because they want to seem more diverse. But apparently too many non-white characters is “too” diverse for them to where it “doesn’t seem like an American movie”

I never felt American when I passed my geography test, but now, now that I have failed, I finally feel American.

How about we addressed Asians being generalized as Koreans and Japanese?? It's like south asians + ASEAN countries are not Asians anymore

Basically, as a mixed person, you sometimes feel like you don’t belong in any of the sides ur parents originated from 💀
example, if u mixed asian/american, asian ppl see u as american and american ppl see u as asian :, ))

I’m Indigenous and even though my ancestors were here in the americas first people still belittle me as a person. For I have almond eyes with high cheek bones as well with tanned skin. The people in America hate immigrants despite their ancestors being immigrants. And nobody is illegal on stolen land. Anyone who looks different or comes from a different background is always welcome. I’m sorry people never treated you well.

As a person of immigrant parents, I understand what you go through. People love to make fun of my culture, calling Africans ugly and raggedy and then they out here with box braids and sh 😒 People are so ignorant and dumb it’s infuriating. You don’t deserve this and neither does any other immigrants in this country.

I’m not Asian (I’m black) but you are right about everything you have said. One thing I related too a little too well was how the way you look was what got you bullied, but then all of a sudden it’s extremely popular and everyone wants it. The amount of times people (specifically white Americans) would make fun of poc for looking different, and all of a sudden it’s all they want. I’m not ashamed of my race, culture, or anything about how I am and it makes me feel good to know that you aren’t either, thank you!

P.S, you look absolutely gorgeous!!!

As a Latino American I can definitely relate, we barely get any representation in the media and for a big chunk of our community we are not even accepted

I'm black and I'm so happy that people of color and more are finally talking and taking a stand on what is happening and what happened in their lives in America the raisisam is a part of our lives that we all had to experience and I really hope one day we won't have to go through again

fr tho. i remember being in elementary school and getting super excited on world culture day bc it meant i could share bits of my culture as a chinese american. i ended up getting ✨bullied✨ and for a solid two years after that kids would call me “ching chong” and pull their eyes and ask how i could see (which i didn’t get and still don’t cause i’m wasian and have rather large eyes). i also remember going home one day and asking my dad what ch!nk meant because after a while people started calling me that too. tbh, it was frustrating to see people act like racism against asians was a new thing that started with covid, cause it’s been going on for longer than that.

I can’t believe I’m finding so many damn racist, homophobic, and people just straight up mocking the way he does his make up. This is about who he is so he shouldn’t be judged for telling his story and doing something different. Then about the make up, it’s not a lot of makeup and it’s not caked up on his face at all.
Just let this man tell a story and give him support.

I'm Asian American and grew up in the midwest but also bullied when I was younger. I used to be called "Kim Jung Un", mocked for my eyes, and told I probably eat dogs. But despite this, I always felt American and loved growing up here. To me, being mocked was the least of my worries because I'm glad I'm privileged enough not to have grown up where my parents were. I guess we all have different takes and that's ok, I hope you can find comfort in who you are! And sorry this is too long!

Dear people who think men wearing makeup is THE END OF MANLY MEN,

Men used to wear high heels.
Men used to wear wigs.
Men used to wear all sorts of colorful patterns and clothing.
Men used to wear what we would now consider a dress.
Men used to wear makeup.

The ideas of what men should wear are actually incredibly modern. Men wearing makeup is not the end of civilization.
