Following Up with LOREN and CHRISTY on INTERVENTION CANADA

Both women speak candidly about the intervention process and about the denial they were in while struggling with their addictions. They share their plans for the future, including returning to school. Loren and Christy reveal that, despite the day-to-day struggles of recovery, they both have hope, choices and connections to their families that they didn't have before.

I've always found the recovery for alcoholics to be particularly challenging because the triggers of just seeing bars that are open, beer in every convenient store, and advertisements for alcohol on tv commercials and in store windows and magazines a constant reminder. You don't see ads for meth or heroin at your local corner store right in your face, so for those in recovery the strength it takes to resist those urges deserves some recognition and praise. Good luck to anybody struggling with addiction out there, and just remember to take it one day at a time, and that it's truly never too late to turn things around.
