All of history thus far is less than the tiniest fraction of a blink of an eye in the grand scale of the life of the universe, so it’s possible there hasn’t BEEN enough time for intelligent life to have formed in the universe. It is possible that we, scuzzy little humankind, are the first in this galaxy. Yeah, imagine that: the old sci-fi trope of “the first ones”, those immensely powerful and wise beings we see in things like Babylon 5…..those could be what WE are destined to be as we age as a race (as long as we don’t kill ourselves first) and watch others spring into existence over the eons.
We have the potential to become an altruistic version of the Q. But we’ll just become exactly like the Q we see in TNG to be fair. Annoying and all powerful with a screwed up sense of morality.

With some nations acknowledgments of ufo's and if you believe contact has been made at some level, the question becomes, why hasn't full disclosure come from those officials? This is no good for the us, the general public. It is a power grab of truths by those that have some power over information, the dissemination of that is within their grasp.
