1. Describe the problem including some attempts that failed to circumvent the problem (eg. specify the encoding).
2. Describe the cause of the problem (Python quirk that doesn't handle the '\' meta-character well).
3. Propose solutions that work.

Very beautifully done.

Python is a pretty good and useful language to work with but it is quirks like this that makes one's experience with Python painful. That's why I prefer JavaScript.

Meta-characters like '\' are a carryover from the C Language and Unix but it is handled very well in those environments. When the backslash character is enclosed in double quotes like in the example in the video, C has no problem at all and so neither should Python.

Another pain in Python is the need for indentation which again C handles well with the braces {}.

Oh well!
