Goodwill has a disclaimer in the description for the fake Gibson that it "has not been authenticated". Looking at other guitar listing, even the Dean Dimebag guitar, there are no similar disclaimers. It makes me think they suspect something is not right, but they will take people's money anyways. Someone who can "officially" authenticate it needs to contact them and let them know before they scam someone of their savings.

A Chibson SG doubleneck with the added bonus feature of a fake Don Felder autograph sold for $6000 on Goodwill a few months back. I always thought of Goodwill as those dingy, musty thrift stores, but they're raking in the cake there boys.

Update, I messaged goodwill and they informed all bidders after I sent them to your video. It sold last night for $199.

There are quite a few collectable Harmonys. Anything 50's or 60's is worth a few bucks. The problem is these early budget made in the USA guitars were mostly entry level. They were never meant to last more than perhaps a decade so things like a truss rod were often not used. My main point is when new they were barely playable and poor parts. So even making them playable may exceed their value very, very quickly. Even so a few are worth buying. They can sound very good because of hand wound PU's and the now very aged woods. I have several and I hot rod them. i always disguise my upgrades so to onlooker everything appears factory. I often use period correct PU covers over a hot gourmet PAF etc.I use tings like the Fender mustang bridge that is adjustable but is made of bent steel and looks period correct. My 'bright yellow 54 Harmony Stratotone Doublet may look like a snowflake but it can take out the back wall of a club going thru my Marshall.LOL

The thing that always tips me of for a fake is the location of the tailpiece! It suppose to sit right over the neck pup volume knob not under!

Well, I was classically trained on bassoon!
I've played bass guitar for 40 years so I guess the bassoon lead me to the low end of things ..
Peace and love brother 👍🏻☮❤

Ex bassoon player here. I think that’s a $4, 000 to $5, 000 new, student horn. I play guitar and drums because I can get a whole studio’s worth of gear for the cost of one bassoon, and I don’t have to make reeds anymore.

The fact I just heard trogly utter the name Bo Bo-Bo just sent me into a fucking spiral.

You could tell right away it was a fake with the giant import pickup rings. But yeah, that thing screams fake. I don’t understand how people will bid 2k on a guitar they have no knowledge about? Lots of dummies out there 🙄

Yes trogly! Please review couple of the new Kramer signature models! I'm glad to see such a iconic brand making a comeback.

That's a Harmony H22 bass. Has a nice "old school" thump, with flat wounds. Fairly collectable.

That's real "utility pole" action on that Strat, not as bad as the Prince-o-caster. In my head, Harmony didn't get any type of passing grade until I read that Pete Townshend used a Harmony acoustic while recording TOMMY. As for Silvertone, they never went away. I think the same folks who made Sammick does them now. In the early 1990s, Epiphone made a halfway decent Telecaster too. I barely remember the M3...thanks for refreshing my memory.

I know a little about bassoons. I know they sound amazing and some ppl use them to get the dubstep bassy sounds. Like Moon Hooch. I wanted to buy one years ago, but got a vintage clarinet instead. Bassoons are cool though.

8:50 that is horrendous, and not just the action. The frets are departing the fretboard.

I tried to buy a 57 Hofner Senator in blonde, won the bid but was denied due to being in Canada. Even though the people I talked to said I could pay for the shipping and handling expenses to have it shipped. Still doesn’t stop me from browsing goodwill tho.
