Some recent research indicates that Progressive Christians tend to value political conformity more than conservative Christians, and are more politically motivated. The research also shows that Progressive Christians and conservative Christians have a different value system, a different image of Jesus, and a different view of the Bible.

I'm a christian...specifically one that follows the whole bible...and I'm an Independent. I think Christians should make all of their decisions based off of God's Word because that's our unifier, not our parties.

The fact they’re progressive shows immediately and conclusively that they are inherently more political and value politics over the word of God. But it’s good to see a study confirm that.

If, as a Progressive, you do not believe scripture to be inerrant, and you don't believe Jesus is the only way to salvation, how are you called a Christian?

A distinction should be made between being politically progressive or conservative and being theologically progressive or conservative. It’s hard to make meaningful statements about this topic when those very different positions are conflated.

Important topic in my opinion. I personally don't love politics but it has a big impact on us wether you care for politics or not

The Gospel Coalition has not impressed me at all these last couple years. I’m surprised they would even post this article since many of their own staff seem to be politically motivated and swaying to the left more and more. I guess this is a step in the right direction but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

I would argue that majority of the time conservatism in America is basically anti-politics and progressivism turns everything into politics. Conservatism in America is the rugged individualism idea which automatically seems like the opposite of political. The reason it turns political is that people need to fight to keep those individual rights. Progressives usually can't help themselves and want to turn everything that is happening into an issue. Are you watching a movie? Something about the movie is a problem. Are you eating red meat? That's a problem. You can literally list anything and a progressive will find something wrong with that activity because structuralism and post structuralism is deeply rooted in the movement. They literally want to break things down yet almost never have any way to build the thing back up.

Can we please stop calling anyone who supports the Progressive policies like abortion up to and after 9 months, Christians?

I think progressive Christians are definitely alot louder simply because they fit in alot more with culture than conservative Christian's do. It's easier to speak out from that standpoint. I'm not taking any sides on this, just calling it like I see it.

The biggest difference is that true Christians discuss politics from their Christian worldview, and progressives discuss theology from their political worldview.
I have come to reject the terms conservative and even evangelical to describe where I stand. I am a fundamentalist Christian. I believe the Bible.

Matt. 22 is the first thing that comes to mind. I keep politics in it's small place. It's no huge priority. My priority is Christ. Walking the narrow road is hard enough, to be entangled in what the world says is important. "Follow Me." "Do not love the world or the things in it..." etc, etc.

Politics is downstream to culture. I'm finding more than ever it's essential for me to speak out about the rot that is CRT and intersectionality. As a conservative Christian it's lonely, nobody wants to engage, but I refuse to be silient, especially now in a time where some seek to reshape and infringe upon myself and my family. Both religiously and politically.

Good video!

My understanding of scripture leads me to believe that our faith to the Lord and obedience to him are the things that must take central position in our life.
Politics on the other hands seems to be concerned with the business of coercion, power and lies. In my opinion a Christian would do well to minimise their exposure to politics.

I love Your work but this one was a little difficult to follow. I don’t know if I’m just slow or if you’re talking too fast but I had to rewind it seven times & relisten to several different comments before I completely understood what you were saying. Keep up the good work

I am a conservative Christian with ties to several churches. I also have a few friends who might be labeled "progressive Christians." Most I know from both groups believe that any who come to God will do so through Christ. I am so thankful that neither group is disparaged in this video as "so-called, " "self-professed, " or "fake" Christians. I hear those demeaning insults all too often.

As a conservative Christian I think it is very important what we take politics very seriously. There is room to love God and your country.
