One of my all time biggest comic discoveries and surprises came after I got a batch of old 50’s-early 60’s LOIS LANE comics. Back in the day I wouldn’t have been caught dead reading them, but holy crap did I ever enjoy them once I made that leap! I don’t care how hokey or silly they are, they really do build up genuine curiosity and suspense in a lot of the stories and more often than not they have a unique way of charming one’s imagination. For anyone hesitant or just plain scared of ever traveling that road of comics history, buck up, be a man and embrace the awe and wonder that is Superman’s girlfriend.

Wayne Boring is (ironically) a pretty interesting artist. His style reminds me of Batman: The Animated Series, in the sense that his men are all broad-shouldered, beefy linebackers, while his women are so slim and petite. Schaffenberger was obviously the master at rendering Lois, but I always enjoy Boring's stories when they pop up.

Well, now I want to see a one shot with Millie coming back as a supervillain. Maybe she and John could be the "Toxic Couple" where they become more and more powerful based on the outrageous lies and manipulations they perform on each other. Cat Grant becomes the surprise key to unraveling them, as her long years and experience as a gossip columnist allows her to see through all the weaknesses in their tumultuous relationship.
