In this video, you will learn all about Parts of a Tooth.
When we look at our teeth in the mirror, we can see only a part of it. Some part of the teeth lies inside the gums.
A tooth has three main parts—crown, neck and root.
• Crown is the visible part of the tooth.
• Neck lies below the crown.
• Root lies inside the gums and holds the tooth in its position.

Layers of a Tooth
A tooth has three main layers—enamel, dentine and pulp.
Enamel
The outer hard, white layer is called the enamel. It is the hardest substance in our body. Enamel protects the tooth from wear and tear.
Dentine
Inside the enamel lies the dentine. This is a yellow, bone-like layer that supports the enamel. It is softer than the enamel.
Pulp
Inside the dentine is the pulp. The pulp is very soft and full of nerves and blood vessels.
