When Gregg died, I listened to this more than any other song of his. I was mourning the loss of the band because I knew that this was the end. I had been to a few Dickey Betts shows during the break up in the 70's, and was incredibly lucky to see Gregg come onstage as a surprise at the band shell in Central Park to rejoin Betts and the rest of the band which still give me chills. I was in the 3rd row. This album was much underrated and this song in particular deserves a slot near the top of the band's cannon.

The brutal honesty and truth of these lyrics together with the heartfelt soul of the players riffs licks and rythmn set theAllman Brothers apart in a league of their own. RIP Gregg

Everything matched up on this one. The voice, the lyrics, and the music are flawless. Real rare track when you think about it.

This song takes me back to the days of my addiction. Gregg's vocal is on the money. Been sober a good while now. God was watching over my foolishness. Anyway this is a fine album. CD at Amazon is at a good price. Eat a Peach for

I forgot how much I love this song. I played Enlightened Rogues countless times in my mid twenties. Still own and play the CD. Hearing this song for the first time in over 15 years, it still touches a nerve. This song may specifically be about Greg's relationship with Cher, but no matter how it's interpreted, it's still moving.

My first Allman Brothers concert was this tour in 1979 at the Manley Feild House in Syracuse NY and 2 nights later in Rochester, NY at the War Memorial. Needles to say they were both awesome shows. I saw them many times after through the years! BEST F_CKING BAND EVER! EVER!!!

It always looked like Greg barely opened up his mouth when he sang yet this huge sound came out. Never looking emotional, Greg’s vocal struck a chord in you like no other vocalist could do weather singing blues hard core rock or songs like this one, truly a master vocalist in his own right. It’s hard to believe that the Allman Brothers Band lost most of it’s original players yet still went on to be what many of us declare the best Southern Rock band of all time. The band members got replaced and the band kept moving ahead but now, without Greg’s vocals to lead the pack, it’ll never return to its true class. Rest In Peace Greg, Butch, Duane, Berry and later Allen Woody. We’re still playing your music and it’ll never be forgotten. 😢😢😢😢
