45 years ago I heard of a house that was piped with garden hose, thought maybe it was an urban legend. Now I believe it

This looks like a post apocalyptic house that was thrown together with whatever they could find just to get by.

This was no plumber. This was the cable guy installation.

I'm not a plumber, I have no experience or background in plumbing at all, but I can't stop watching these videos.

The guy had no choice. The previous tenants ripped all the copper piping out to buy crack.

My guess is squatters moved in and stealing water and utilities. No home owners or renters would run water line in the middle of the living room and kitchen.

Well I just stumbled upon a episode of “This Old Crackhouse”

honestly looks like something squatters threw together to make the house " functional " I've seen abandon commercial property's that look like this, wire and pipe ran wherever just to get it from point A to point B, using either stolen building materials or scraps left over from job sites.

OMG! YOU WIN! I have been in construction for over 40 years and seen a lot of nasty stuff but that takes the cake. Good luck to whomever gets to work on that...

Plumbing, brought to you by someone who learned how to build a home by playing rust.

drug addicts most likely lived here, sold the copper to buy drugs, and replaced it all with this fine setup. I would have that place condemned. damn.

Sometimes, you've just got to throw away the whole house

I'd like to see a walk through of the electrical, especially the panel.

Imagine the guy that put this together at the store: yeah umm, I'm gonna need a couple miles of hose, please.

This isn't a DIY, this is a DIWhy.

From the looks of that house, I would start from Square One, rip it all down the studs and start again. If the water lines are like that, I'd put money that the drain lines are just as bad. Not to mention the great electrical work.

First off, I'm not a plumber by profession. I rebuilt a couple homes for myself in this one area, and one day a neighbor, whom I helped out from time to time stopped by. He was having his plumbing done by a well known company in the area and asked me to stop by and look at it. I go over and it looked a lot like the work in the video, except it was in a crawl space that had plenty of room to work. They just dropped all the lines on the ground and snaked the cpvc lines everywhere. No clips, no hangers, every thing was fitted with what ever fitting they could find to make it work. I never knew cpvc pipe could bend that much without breaking. I told him they needed to do it over again. I looked at it again after they were done a second time, but it still needed attention so the guy called them again and they came out.The third time was better, but not the best. The company said they were not coming out again. About a week later the neighbor came over and asked me to check out a wet spot on the floor, so I crawled under the house and one of the fittings was leaking and spraying water onto the subfloor. I fixed it for him for nothing. Originally he came over and asked me if I would do the plumbing for $1800, but I told him I was busy trying to hit a deadline. Found out later he paid $3800. for the other plumber to do it. Another lady in the town down the road asked me to come over and look at her plumbing. Her house was built on top of the septic tank that didn't have a decent leech bed. But, that's a story for another day. All this and more in the state of Arkansas.
