Spaceship Earth is the true, stranger-than-fiction, adventure of eight visionaries who in 1991 spent two years quarantined inside of a self-engineered replica of Earth’s ecosystem called BIOSPHERE 2. The experiment was a worldwide phenomenon, chronicling daily existence in the face of life threatening ecological disaster and a growing criticism that it was nothing more than a cult. It is worth noting that they planned on failing and wanted to find out as many failure points as they could. Many many people with arm chair education knew it would not work for many reasons (like construction workers with green house hobbies). Getting a handle on failure modes and how to deal with them is valuable. I wonder if the real (non-faked press conference) data still exists.

This documentary is actually a comedy for Amish community who lives sustainable life much more efficiently then hippy commune could ever dream.

The documentary was a completely whitewashed version of what happened. They only showed a fraction of the drama that actually happened. Don't waste your time watching this.
