Under what circumstance would GAF allow a contractor to offer a Silver Pledge Warranty if they are not Master Elite Certified? The company is also not yet certified.

GAF roof warranties are a joke. They require you to remove at least two shingles from your roof, plus pictures of your entire roof. Package shingles without bending and mail them to their lab so they can inspect for defects! Who is able to remove shingles from your roof and good luck getting your contractor to come out and help you with removing the shingles! I can’t believe how ridiculous they advertise a warranty but fail to tell you that you are required to send them a couple of your shingles, so they can inspect them in their lab.
They had a class action lawsuit filed against them and it took 11 years for a verdict and the court found in favor of GAF! Since then I have seen complaints with the BBB against GAF and people who tried to have their warranty honored, we’re told that someone walked on their roof, causing the damage! No wonder that homeowners insurance is getting so expensive, inferior materials installed on homeowners roofs! Do yourself a favor and research the products, before having them installed. I wish I would have, but the salesman made their warranty so great!

I'm trying to pick a contractor. One is certified installed vs the other that is a Master Elite. The master Elite is telling me that they are going to cover my entire roof in WeatherWatch Ice & Water Leak Barrier (No Tiger Paw) vs. the certified installer who is saying 3 feet of WeatherWatch Ice & Water Leak Barrier (eaves, Chimney etc.) followed by Tiger Paw to cover the rest of the roof. So, I think the certified has it right vs. Master Elite? Please confirm? Also, I'm very confused between the warranties that a certified installer can offer vs. Master Elite? Please let me know. Thanks!
