Good luck Iclal with the exams. Regarding the C1 exam, you got it girl!! I am preparing for taking C1 in French. Hoping to taking it between December - January. I am using your technique of studying vocabulary and grammar through context. I am writing sentences and underlining grammar structures and vocab. And it is really helping me. I show this technique to my french teacher and she was impressed, she just loved it. A huge thank you!

Iclal, let me start by saying I think you are an AMAZING person! Multi-tasking is much talked about as a norm in today's modern lifestyle but it's not realistically achievable if you are looking to excel in anything. It's just not possible to reach a very high level in numerous subjects. Something will give. If you want to smash your university studies, you will have to put your language studies on the back-burner while you focus on your degree. Trust me there is no other way. You are already facing a lot challenges studying a degree in a foreign country in a foreign language and living alone & having to take care of yourself at such a young age. That takes time to adjust and manage. People underestimate the time and energy taken to do things your parents did for you at home..cooking, laundry, cleaning your room, etc. You have already reached a high standard in most of your languages and you will not forget them or drop your standard that much. Even if you lose some traction in them while you are focussing on your uni stuff, you will be able to get back to your current standard within a very short time. You can still read and listen to podcasts for leisure in the languages every now and the but you may have to seriously consider deferring exams in them as that is time consuming and energy sapping. I studied languages in the past to a high level while doing my law degree but I almost failed my first year and then completely stop studying them to focus on my degree. My marks went up dramatically & ended up doing very well. I did not go back to my languages for few years after I graduated because of life (work, got married, etc) got in the way, But you know what? When I went back after 5 years, I recovered my standard after only a few weeks of reading & listening to it online. So I totally understand where you are at. My "advice" would be just FOCUS on your uni studies for now. Others may disagree. But based on my personal experience and having tutored students at university in the past, I have seen all kinds of students. You (and your parents financially) have made a huge sacrifices to be in Milan for a purpose (which is not to study German or Russian to C2 level). Don't put too pressure on yourself by studying things not related to your degree. I'm not sure whether languages are part of it. But focus on theuni this 2nd year. You need to get into a routine and things will fall into place. You will propel once you prioritize the uni work. With any free time, enjoy the city, travel & meet people from uni (other departments) and the city. Uni days should be the best days of your life. Enjoy life! You are young only once. Languages are an integral part of you so they will always be there. Trust me. Believe in yourself! Put first things first and you will never look back. You can smash your degree studies. I know because you have the art of dedication and discipline at such a young age. Time management can be learnt but if you put too much on your plate, it will seem like an endless task & you will spiral downwards. Good luck! You can do it!! Don't worry about what others are doing. Focus on YOU.

I have always dreamed of being a polyglot and I started my language learning journey at 13 years old with English, and now I am learning French as my fourth language after Arabic, English and Spanish.
