I wish I'd known this before. All my life I'd been healthy. Mostly vegetarian, but I did eat eggs, or the occasional meats and dairy, including saturated fats. No issues. Regular blood tests, because parents were ill, and the only way to not scare them with regular tests were to make them for "everyone". Boring results. Always. The only time I needed a doctor post teenage was when I was pregnant. Then my ex had blood glucose in the stratosphere and got on a keto diet. So I did the same in support. For the first time EVER, my blood glucose, lipids AND liver enzymes showed up high. Stopped ASAP, but wasn't sure what to do. Exercised, ate "healthy" but without thinking through all this. Was STRUGGLING to get back to normal. This makes so much sense.

Among all your videos, those presentations are the one that have the most impacts for me. It s just a fantastic round up of information and the speed at which the information is delivered is optimal. Thank you!

OK I have to comment about the person in the audience who kept dropping their fork during the entire presentation. Do you think it was a troll from the meat and dairy industry?

I wish I could eat spicy spices. Just a tiny bit makes my mouth burn. Going to try these methods in the New Year.

If this diet causes speech issues such as Greger suffers I'll give it a pass...

Some interesting points but some of the comments made me go looking -- surprised but comment that ketogenic diets reduced life expendency. Dug up Dr. Greger's paper and its citation for that statement (Noto, Hiroshi, Atsushi Goto, Tetsuro Tsujimoto, and Mitsuhiko Noda. "Low-carbohydrate diets and all-cause mortality: a systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies." PloS one 8, no. 1 (2013): e55030.) is about low-carb. None of the studies included were ketogenic. While plant based may be effective (when glucose is controlled) When people make such misleading comments, I don't trust the rest of what they say.

Actually a calorie is just a calorie, and it can take a lot of explaining to a doubter why there's a difference between a calorie of sweet potato and a calorie of pizza. People are jaded and cynical by so much disinformation on nutrition
