It's odd, isn't it, how Thistleclaw died offscreen? How Bluestar just passingly mentions that the main antagonist of her super edition died in a border scuffle with Riverclan.... Why?

If you know anything about me, you know that I HATE Spottedleaf's Heart. I think, very passionately, that Vicky Holmes, Working Partners, and Harper Collins should publically both apologize for its sloppy handling of the VERY serious subject matter of pedophilia, but decanonize it and stop publishing it. The intention of novella, to explain why Thistleclaw went to the Dark Forest, makes sense, and I truly believe that this platform COULD have effectively handled the material in a way that could explain to young readers the danger of child grooming, and offer them examples of warning signs to look out for. Instead, it fails to properly villify Thistleclaw's actions- in the climax of the story, when Spottedpaw discovers Thistleclaw is training in the Dark Forest, she asks him to choose between her and the Dark Forest, and he chooses training in the Dark Forest. Spottedpaw then becomes a medicine cat to escape him, offering her a reasonable explanation why she cannot take a mate. Essentially, it makes it seem that the thing he did wrong was NOT CHOOSING HER, not the fact he had been ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED WITH A CHILD.

It was pretty popular! I was very proud of it. For me, it offered a way to come to terms with spottedleafs heart, in a way. I chose to use Whitestorm for this video and the comic, because I like the idea of Whitestorm, someone who had briefly been a denmate of Redtail and Spottedleaf, choosing her over a father he now knew something terrible about. However, I theorize that in Redtail's Debt, this WILL actually happen, BUT, it will be TIGERCLAW, and after they've killed Thistleclaw, Tigerclaw will tell Redtail he owes him, foreshadowing that Tigerclaw would later also secretly kill Redtail and blame it on a border scuffle with Riverclan.

I hope you enjoy this video! It took a really long time to make and I'm VERY proud of it.

If this actually happens in Redtail's Debt, it would probably be one of my favorite novellas. Even though Spottedleaf's Heart was a pretty bad book in a lot of ways (total understatement but that's another topic for another day), if they could somehow fix it by doing something like this, it would really help. Even if this doesn't happen, I'm hype to figure out exactly what happens in Redtail's Debt.

This is a way more interesting theory than Thistle just dying off randomly in the background. I recently tried to read through spottedleaf's heart, but I was just too uncomfortable that i didn't even finish up to half of it. Just the fact that Spottedleaf was just so naive about it made it much more realistic, but as you said, the way they "villainize" Thistleclaw is just terrible; thus making it one of the most poorly executed books I have seen in a while.

I hope this would become cannon. This gives Redtail more character and Thistleclaw finally gets what he deserves. Also this would give Thistleclaw more motivation be truly hateful against Thunderclan in the final battle

As someone who experienced pedophilia from someone who groomed me before eventually attempting to molest me, this animation makes both the devil and angel on my shoulder cry out in joy and justice. No child predator should get away with their crimes.

This is a perfect head-canon, and I really hope that it’ll happen in Redtail’s Debt! It’ll both expand on Spottedleaf and Redtail’s characters, as well as give a deeper reason for why Tigerclaw murdered Redtail at the fight against RiverClan.

Also, I have a feeling that one of the reasons Redtail’s Debt is written is to make something meaningful come out of the huge mess that was Spottedleaf’s Heart. (For the character developments of Redtail, Spottedleaf, and Tigerstar)

Just realised Redtail having a high pitched voice was intentional.

Male tortoiseshells are super rare, so most Warriors readers headcanon him as trans.

Also the voice actor is trans.

Instead you have a book that should never have existed at all because of how horrible and offensive it is to people who were either almost a victim or were a victim of a pedophile and I just... ugh

In my option, I think that when spottedleaf gave him a choice and when he chose the dark forest, she realized that he didn't love her and decided to be a medicine cat and tell her brother so she can try to make right.

I just came after watching Moonkitti’s video about Spottedleaf’s heart, ironically, and this was the best thing I could have watched after. ”Thistleclaw died in a border scuffle” just seems so unnatural and out of nowhere. This adds more character to Redtail and this idea seems much better anyway.

Yes this is so good! If this was canon, then Redtail would probably have more character development and we would get to know him better, and I hope that Redtail's debt will be better then Spottedleaf's heart, that book was not that good and stuff was just thrown in there.
