A Sealed Piece of my Childhood... at a Pawn Shop?? 1988 Ring Raiders Battle Blaster & MOC Plane Set!

Today we're showing some love to an 80s toy line that in my opinion gets far too little shine, Matchbox's Ring Raiders, officially released in 1988 but for some reason not discovered until 1990 by a little six-year-old Scott Crusher.

During lockdown I spotted some absolute gems on the eBay store of a nearby pawn shop, so I can now check off my grail list the Mint on Card Ring Raiders Wing Commanders Plane Series and more importantly the Sealed in Box Ring Raiders Battle Blaster!

Thanks for watching!

P.S. I'm obviously a complete amateur and struggling with pixelation following the static effect which only appears when I export the video. Any guidance to solve this conundrum is appreciated! :)

This video is aimed at nostalgic adult toy and pop culture collectors and enthusiasts over the age of 13.

I used to love these toys and this show and it was the same, I had a Skull Squadron battle blaster and a few squadrons of planes. I had one of the smaller bases too, the brown one.

Since becoming an adult and earning fun coupons, lol…I’ve managed to get a boxed air carrier justice, skull base…which I have opened and built. Boxed battle blasters and wing command stand plus all the planes…

I never knew a cartoon even existed for em. I just thought they were awesome looking and fit in with all the other micromachines I had.

The cartoon did show in Australia. I’m from Melbourne and I to recall seeing this cartoon on agro cartoon connection back in 91 and was on at 9am. The reason I know the show was on then it’s because in 91, I was in hospital for long period and I was bedbound for three months back then I watched a lot of TV. I hope this helps you out but.

For me I love the show as I was a military brat and any military shows and cartoon so this is why I like to show so much

Those are really cool. I never heard of them. Really enjoyed seeing them. Love the time travel aspect. So cool. Very Bermuda Triangle like. #keepitcasual #fullwatch #growtogether

Hey mate, we think u should open up the Battle Blaster on camera and let the feeling of nostalgia hit you when u see and hold it.
Sometimes its hard to open these packets because they look so good, but u will keep the packaging no doubt to look at.
FYI, we couldnt hear ur dog, so when u froze suddenly we laughed and wondered what was going on...
Good vid on one of your grail pieces mate 👍 😎

Fantastic review as always man. I was not familiar with the Ring Raiders but we had those sound effects here in the states often on a key chain thing lol. Great job again my friend. Learned alot and the box is in super sweet shape. I am not a mint on card person either. :)

3:28 You might have seen a scene of a tv-series or film on television and remembered that a night - or two - later in a dream. At least about winning the jackpot, I mean.

Scott your fears of the mint sealed in box ring raiders are very rational, I have a motu sealed monstroid and slime pit, i bought it from very trusted people so I maybe can have faith but it doesn’t stop you thinking, I remember ring ring raiders really well I didn’t have any but it’s a line I’d like to add a few bits from if possible, strangely one of those lines that when I first rediscovered it it made me think of that time not the toys specifically
