Jesus and His Mother - Matthew 12:46-49 - Skip Heitzig

This is a very special day but in a very unique time. As we gather together in our cars or online, we consider the relationship that Jesus had with His own mother, Mary. Though the New Testament gives sparing information about the upbringing of Jesus, we can conclude that there were at least three ways to describe the relationship of Christ to Mary.

A most excellent sermon on the truth concerning the Christ, of Mary and salvation, Christ is the image of the father and the mother, it is as you said about Mothers and their love for their children, they will suffer whatever their children give to them, but they will remain in love for them. and this image of the mother is displayed in the garden, for Christ in the garden, is the mother weeping for her child, and Christ on the cross, is the mother being crucified by the child she is weeping for. If man and woman are made in the likeness of God, then it stands to reason, father mother god.
