World of Warplanes- Wait, This Game ISN'T Dead??

It’s only horrible if you compare it to the competition. It’s good for brief fun. It’s relaxed, it’s not unfun.

The wing symbol either side of some players' fighter type symbol means its an elite aircraft, basically they spent a lot of time and played through a lot of battles on that particular aircraft to unlock a version that allows for further equipment tweaking which can improve battle performance.

Regarding your concern about TTK, don't worry, the higher the tiers, the most a mistake will cost you your life, or the enemies life. and even lower tiered planes, high caliber guns will always shred enemies apart.
The way the calibers work in Wowp is:
Small caliber = easy to aim but lower dps output and long time to overheat
Medium caliber guns = a bit harder to aim but deal a lot more damage, they also have a much shorter burst length than small caliber guns.
High Caliber guns = hard to aim, may need a lot of lead, but they generally can kill planes within 2-3 seconds tops. for the most part, you can only fire like 10 shots before they overheat
Sniper guns = Insanely low rate of fire, insane range, usually allows you to 1-2 tap enemies from a safe distance but they're very hard to aim accurately, unless you get a feel for them, you ain't killing much in them.

I for one would be happy if more people gave Wowp a fair chance. It's not perfect, there's quite a few flaws, it ain't DCS or WT. but god damn can it be fun.
And let's be real, there's no law that dictates that you can't play both games and enjoy both at the same time. It's understandable if someone doesn't like the arcade flight mechanics and sometimes inaccurate statistics of planes or has beef with the hitpoints system, but that's fine. It doesn't make Wowp a bad game. The amount of times i've seen people not giving Wowp a chance because it isn't like WT or "I hate on it because it's funny and others do it too" is just so damn much, so someone sitting down, playing the game and being like: "This may not be my cup of tea, but it can be fun" is honestly refreshing.

I gotta admit, really glad you made this vid! I downloaded it and have been having a ball the last couple days with this. I tried it years back and it didn't grab me but it really did this time. I've been playing with mouse aim w/ a joystick, nice break from boats for a little while. Cheers Mountie!

It would be fun to have a version of WoWS where all the planes were flown by other World of Warplanes players, and the carrier crew stayed on board. Have land-based aircraft also... and LST's to land WoT tanks on the islands in game. Add in some Consolidated PB-Y Catalina, Short Sunderland, and Blohm and Voss flying boats in ASW mode... Seaplane Tenders, Corvettes, Frigates, DE's, Sub Chasers, and the ASW CVE's. Also Mine Layers and Mine Sweepers...and Patrol Torpedo Boats. Bring the lines back to 1880 and forward to 1959.

yeah I flew this game a lot for a while. It is a fun game, certainly on the lower tiers. After a while, I got a little bored, seemed like I was the only person playing. But, Sea Lord, if you're gonna be on there, I'll go back to it, be great to fly on your team's side, and may Odin help you if I see you on the opposing team. happy flying!

I absolutely hated how tanky planes were in this game... Played this before I found out the existence of War Thunder. Still uninstalled. HP bar system is just not it for planes

The tier v and up American fighters are my favorite. It’s awesome how fast they are. It is so fun flying into the sky with a slower fighter on your tail. But he eventually starts falling and then you turn around and wreck him.

Sea Lord at 12:30 that symbol means that plane is specialized. similar to fully upgraded

I played it a few years back right after they did the remake and it really is a lot of fun. Back then they were still working out some balance changes between the classes and there were a ton of bots but it's still a decently fun game. It doesn't feel as try-hardy as WarThunder. Especially at the higher teirs.

If you slow down you also have tighter turn radius, it's not that arcade you just didn't look in to it

this game is actually kind of fun when you are playing against bots. Once you get other humans in there, the game is so shallow in terms of fighting each other. its always whoever get the first shots, will almost always win the engagement.

It is dead. Life support is keeping the corpse breathing, but in all ways that matter it is very much deceased.

I think it's a good game. It's more casual than WT and I like that. It just needs a lot of love, both in term of polish and advertising from WG. They invested a lot when 2.0 came out but quickly dropped it. Now it's basically on life support, they add a couple of premiums for events every year but that's about it. Really hope it gets some more love, it deserves it. Fun game if you like arcade games.

It's been a long time so I don't remember the exact terminology, but the wings mean you did alll the upgrades or achieved the best rank you can in that plane. It's been years but I think it ups your stats a little bit. Means your an ace if I'm not mistaken.
