In this talk, Emily Shea, senior partner development manager at AWS, shares first-hand experience and practical steps for getting started with building serverless web applications. Emily wanted to build a solution to an everyday problem: regularly practicing a second language. This session walks through the process of evolving that solution from an AWS Lambda function into a fully featured application that uses Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon QuickSight, the AWS Amplify Console, and more. Learn why serverless is a great toolset for experimenting with new ideas, and hear how the extensibility and modularity of serverless applications allow you to start small and quickly add features.

In just 25 minutes, this presentation showcases AWS serverless and many other capabilities with a easy to understand practical example. Included design diagrams and code make it more useful than many other 'system design' and AWS videos on YouTube.

I love the quality on all aspects of this presentation. It inspires to get started with AWS. In this way you can make your digital dreams come true. The only thing I'm personally a bit annoyed about is the voice frying. She has such a clear and beautiful voice, why screwing it up with frying it at the end of almost every sentence.

good presentation. This is what I am doing as well for my new application at work except that I use terraform and Jenkins. The only complain I have is that when the application increases in complexity the infrastructure code can become very big and even bigger than your business code !

Only $10, 000 per month in service billing, too.
