20 Major Differences Between My Hero Academia Manga And Anime

The Biggest Changes From The My Hero Academia Manga To The Boku No Hero Anime

The My Hero Academia manga is brilliant from start to finish, but that doesn’t mean the anime followed everything perfectly in terms of story. The manga is absolutely jam packed with some amazing moments as we witness Deku’s journey to become a hero like All Might, but sometimes, those moments didn’t translate well to anime-form, so some tweaks had to be made to better enhance the story.

In fact, there were quite a few instances in the My Hero Academia anime that either happened differently in the manga or were full of completely new content. Things like Tsuyu’s internship with Selkie or Deku and the class taking a much needed day off at the pool were added episodes with almost no manga chapter basis. Other changes were more minor with things like All Might’s tougher characterization or the pop culture references Present Mic makes to the students.

There were also a ton of moments that fleshed out other students in Class 1-A which the manga never bothered with and, for that, we got to be at least a little grateful because all the students in that class deserve more love, but what else is there in terms of changes? Are there any major differences in how the anime was adapted? We know you don’t have time yourself to go through the entire manga and compare it the anime because you’d rather watch helpful videos like this one instead, so we at CBR went ahead and marked out the biggest differences between the My Hero manga and the My Hero anime. Let’s get into that, right now.

My fav part of the show so far is when Deku impersonates All Might and says "EAT THIS!"

One major thing that differs the anime from the manga is that the anime has color.

One MAJOR difference not mentioned (besides color lol) was that when All Might visits All For One in prison, we get a shot of Stain looking at All Might. Dunno why the anime cut that out. Was looking forward to it.

11:43 actually, Asui does mention that she stopped illegal trafficants from moving drugs into Japan while on her internship.

The anime team just expanded that sentence into almost 12 minutes of animation.

I also have one.

So before Dabi was introduced in the anime, his quirk Cremation actually conjured up purple flames instead of blue, but the anime changed it to blue so later in the manga, characters refer to the flames as blue.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the anime will handle certain arcs from the manga in the fourth season. I have no doubt it'll be as amazing and accurate as it has been so far.

I enjoy MHA's filler quite a bit

Also the IQ quirk in the sub isn't just after drinking tea
It's after she drinks tea and closes her eyes

Actually according to many polls, KamiJiro is the most popular ship. Not that Uraraka x Deku isn’t endgame or popular, it’s just not the most popular.
