This is the largest production single man chain saw ever produced - the STIHL o ninety and you're about to see it cut through this 84-inch thick wood like butter.
He starts the powerful engine and slowly balances the saw with pure strength.
This is the view from the ground up.
The project might look easy and fun, but don't be deceived. These guys are professionals who spent hours solely setting up the system.
Like adding this huge chainsaw mill and attaching a rope at the other end so they're able to balance the saw without anyone getting seriously injured.
They're almost done, but here's the riskiest part.
They carefully remove the sawmill, cut the bottom, and take out the crane.
This job takes incredible nerved and precision.

My grandad had bars 4x that long, he ran his own log crews in new zealand. Donated his logging train and most of his gear to the logging museum, he was also a champion axeman.

On a trip to CA, I saw a setup with a center pole with a boat winch attached. The saw bar was bolted to a ring on the center pole that rotated and the chainsaw was horizontal to the ground. They would move big stumps close to the pole and walk around the pole cutting slabs and adjusting the thickness of the slab with the boat winch and not really lifting the saw at all.

As a dude who has done a lot of chainsaw milling of big logs on the ground, I can safely say that letting gravity do (some of) the work for you is absolutely brilliant.... But it requires a lot more equipment... Bucket truck, crane...

I use a huskavarna 52 inches blade by myself and I'm not a big person but I'm smart enough to use it
