The theme of Issue 010 is inspired by the I-Ching (The Book of Changes) and the number 10, Lü. The I-Ching is an ancient Chinese oracle system that stems from North-West China dating back to approximately 1200 BC. Its primary function is concerned with predicting chance events, correcting one's approach in the early phases of transitions, and accounting for what Carl Jung coined the term of, Synchronicity. It comprises of 64 hexagrams, which are made of solid (yang - the firm) and broken (yin - yielding) lines. The Periodic Table of Elements of the West is equivalent to such a system. Instead of focusing on matter, the ancient Chinese were focused on understanding mind, time and happenstance.
114 pages, full color, perfect bound, 5.5"x8.5", edition of 400.

NOICE is a photography/art magazine for all artists that have a meticulous eye for humor, beauty, and curiosity. A keen eye for pattern, light, color, humor, and allegory are the key ingredients in what we publish. NOICE, embodying all things arts and culture, also represents everyday voices through informative news, opinion, and political essays. The work we publish, through visual or written mediums, strives to unite the arts, not divide them.
We produce and sell limited-edition photobooks, shirts, prints and more. Partial proceeds from our sales go to non-profit organizations.
