We've seen Michigan goals before, but there's usually a pause with a very exaggerated levering down on the stick in order to then scoop the puck up; it's slower and very noticeable and thus defendable. But with this goal, until they showed the reverse angle I couldn't tell at what point Bedard scooped the puck up because on the live shot the goalie was in the way. There was nothing in his upper body movements that betrayed what he was doing, that's how smooth and effortlessly he can pick the puck up with his stick in an upright position without that levering down motion you normally see. So, yes, the NHL has seen many Michigan goals at this point, this one was exceptionally smooth and fast. I haven't seen a Michigan like it.

He did that about as smoothly as possible - complete with the nice sharp little flick at the end. Just one more thing for opponents to think about when he is on the attack.
