CRUISE NEWS UPDATE: MSC Resume Cruising This Week With Tests in Port. NCL's New Ship, and MORE!!

In this mega cruise update, MSC is planning to stat cruising in under a week using two of its ships. they have released their protocols which include rapid testing. We also hear about Norwegian Cruise Lines brand new ship. We were also hit with the bad news that cruise lines are cancelling sailings voluntarily until at least 31 October 2020, meaning most cruise lines and sailings will not return until at least November. Plus we have much more including updates from Royal Caribbean, Hurtigruten, and much more!

I would not mind going through any testing or restricted port excursions. I would also wear my mask at all times. I am in the medical field and already wear masks most of my day and so I don’t mind it. The ONLY thing that will keep me away from cruising is if they do not limit passenger capacity. This is key.

I know what it feels like to be on a ship with possible covid. The relief when the tests came back negative was immense to all onboard. I'd love to cruise again but definitely not yet x

The molecular test is the confirmatory PCR test using the nasal swab VTMs and due to the backlog it can take up to a week for results.

In answer to your question, yes I definitely would cruise with MSC at this time, I think their protocols actually make good sense, at least at the moment. If it makes things safer & we get back to cruising, I’m all for it.

I would like to know how using the elevators if only 4 per car is allowed. How long a wait do you think after embarkation? Going from the 4 or 5 deck to deck 10, 11, 12, stairs for most not an option!

I probably would depending on the price and cabin class. It would have to be a super bargain for a balcony. Btw.. cruise stocks are creeping up. So investors think it’s coming back by End of year. Thanks, Possums!
